Happy Holi

No storm was going to stop us from celebrating Holi this year. Due to some reason or other, we were unable to celebrate Holi with Geethikasri & Joshita before. So this year, we decided we are going to celebrate it any cost. I had explained to Geethikasri & Joshita about Holi ealier this week, so every morning both wake up and ask if today was the day we were going to play with colors. When they found out that the day had finally arrived, Both were very excited. After waiting for a couple of hours for the rain to stop, we gave up and decided to enjoy Holi in the rain. When the rain reduced to a drizzle, we stepped out, and needless to say they both had a great time. Colors and getting wet in the rain, they couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the afternoon. When were done, both said, “Amma this was fun, lets do a purple Holi next time”. Since we used pink color this year, Geethikasri named today as Pink Holi.

Aksharabhyasam

Posted on April 17 by Padmaja

Finally, after many postponements, we were able to perform Aksharabhyasam puja for Geetikasri. We had an appointment with the priest at 7:00 AM in the morning, So we had to wake up early to make it in time for the puja. When we reached the temple, priest wasn't arrive after sometime all priest came & started doing alankarana for Lord Venkateshwara it took sometime to complete, we realized that booking the puja so early in the morning wasn’t the best option. We were the first ones at the temple, Finally our puja began at 8:00 am. With the exception of the one hour delay, the puja went smoothly. We were very please with the puja and the priest and best of all, Geetikasri enjoyed performing the ceremony. After writing some holy words, we made her trace letters in Telugu and English. And so began, Geetikasri Aksharabhyasam’s journey to learning how to write.
